The transport of UGT federation Murcia held tomorrow a day to discuss the future of sustainable transport in the region (14/01/2010)

The next Saturday, January 16, the Federation of Transport, Communications and the Sea (TCM) of UGT Murcia held in the town of Calasparra its Territorial Congress X and prior to this act, for tomorrow will be a day under entitled "The future of sustainable transport in the Region of Murcia."

The House of Culture of the municipality will host this event which will discuss the situation being experienced by the transport model in the region and the importance of the fact that, regardless of the funding system of a community, it is the duty of public authorities to prevent its consideration as a consumer product dependent on the ability to pay of each person, since the mobility of people and goods in terms of quality and safety is a right of all citizens.

The TCM-UGT working towards a sustainable public transport model that is able to get a region like ours is well connected and vertebrate with a sustainable intermodal transport.

Hence the importance of designing a regional map in which we see the reality of urban areas and sectors to identify needs and more efficient transportation in each area.

The choice of the town of Calasparra for holding this conference and subsequent congress has not been a fluke, and that this is a location that is being severely affected after the materialization of the cliques rail option, which removes the railway station 20 kilometers from the town of Calasparra.

Responsible for presenting the day is the current Secretary General of the TCM-UGT Murcia Nicolas Vicente Carrion, and who opened the event will be the Mayor of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro, and Regional Secretary General of UGT, Antonio Jiménez Sánchez.
