The Segura basin (CHS) has contracted through.
Biosphere company Mediterranea, SL the maintenance and conservation of river environment of rivers and Argos Quípar by an annual amount of 116,000 euros, which plans, test case efficiency, renewable every year and will operate continuously in both channels.
The president of the CHS and the mayor of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro, have witnessed today the work of cleaning crews, consisting of regular travel routes of the said river from its headwaters to its mouth, inspecting their status and the process of removal of anthropogenic debris and abandoned solid waste that will later be transported to approved landfills.
Most of the path of these rivers pass through areas designated as Sites of Community Importance (SCI) and Special Protection Areas for Birds (SPA), so it does not pursue aggressive treatment of existing vegetation, but keep the environment without the presence of traces produced by the human hand and in a natural state as possible.
Member teams of these contracted services are in permanent contact with the Child Care River and are equipped with all-terrain vehicles, trailers, chainsaws, trimmers and auxiliary tools, plus personal protective equipment necessary for the development of work with maximum personal safety.
This type of work, ongoing maintenance, as has been done with great success in the stretch of river between Contraparada Segura (Murcia) and its mouth in Guardamar (Alicante), and is being studied to extend it to all channels Basin Segura, although they are more developed to serve the projects on the rivers Alhárabe, Moratalla and Mula.
In this field, the CHS is a pioneer in developing a conservation policy and ongoing maintenance of the main channels of the basin, within which even has a specific program of treatment that has been applied boulevards with impressive results since 2004.
