González Tovar visit the Civil Guard barracks of Calasparra and co-chairs the Local Security (31/10/2008)

Cultural Projects

During his visit to Calasparra, the delegate of the Government is interested in the development of three cultural projects funded this year the Ministry of Development, from 1% culture through Agreements with the City of Calasparra.

This year, the Ministry of Public Works has provided 438,000 euros (which added to the 25% contributed by the city a total of 584,000 euros), which will go to the Environmental Treatment of the environment, the creation of an Interpretation Centre and the construction of a suspension bridge from east to the archaeological site.

Regarding the performance in the Old Village, ancient Islamic city of Calasparra, the government delegate reportedly has an overall budget of 243,800 euros this year, an amount that is being designed to extend the Interpretation Centre and to continue the excavations.

González Tovar has highlighted the importance of recovering Islamic city, whose historic value has been recognized by the European Union, through the financing of the work carried out years ago under the proposed "Islamic Urbanism in Southern Europe."

Finally, the delegate of the Government was interested in the work of "Digitizing Historical Archive documents Calasparra" project was also funded by the Government of Spain through an agreement with the City, and that investment will 60,000 euros this year (75% by the Ministry of Public Works and the City 25%).
