La Cueva del Puerto de Calasparra hosts next Sunday, November 22, a day of caving tourism promotion organized by Integral, Society for Rural Development, in collaboration with the Federation of Speleology of the Region of Murcia and the City of Calasparra.
The Minister of Water, Agriculture and Environment, Adela Martinez-Cache, visit the Cueva del Puerto and present the web, a book and a video about cavities, at 12:30 in the Center of Interpretation of the Cueva del Puerto.
The presentation was also attended by the mayor of Calasparra, Jose Velez, and the manager of Integral, Cayetano García.
The day will begin at 9:00 and end around 17:00.
Various free activities throughout the day, including an underground workshop for amateur photography and free guided tours of the Cueva del Puerto, both of tourism, like sport will be visits.
Places to attend the conference are limited, as well as workshop and visits (which are incompatible with each other), so it is essential to register by sending an email to jornadaespeleo@gmail.com, where you can request more information.
Caving is a specialty that is played by thousands of people around the country hundreds of clubs.
The counties of Northwest River Mula, districts high Lorca and Espuña hold more than one hundred cavities among which are several of the most important in the region, which go across the country cavers.
The non-profit Comprehensive profit Society for Rural Development, wants to focus on the potential of caving as a way to boost sustainable development in rural areas of the Region of Murcia.
There has been a promotional video and a photographic book of the most representative chambers of Integral territory, which will be presented at this conference.
