The Calasparra Galindo Foundation delivers its scholarships to nine young musicians Murcia (07/09/2015)

The Calasparra Galindo Foundation, whose board is part of the autonomous region, has delivered Monday scholarships and grants to nine young musicians from the region to enable them to complete and improve their musical training.

The Minister of Culture and Spokesperson, Noelia Arroyo, who attended the ceremony held at the City of Calasparra, said "the support from the Ministry, young artists from Murcia is done, paying special attention to those who are completing their studies and starting their careers and therefore need more help to complete their training and begin to disseminate their work ".

The Galindo Foundation held last July auditions its fifth call for aid, after which the winner of the Scholarship for Postgraduate Studies in Europe, endowed with 12,000 euros, the young trombonist Alejandro García Cabeza de Torres.

In addition, eight scholarships of 300 euros were awarded to students of the School of Music in Calasparra to continue their studies at intermediate and higher grade at conservatories in the region.

On this occasion, they were selected Paloma Rodriguez, Jose Antonio Garre and Joaquin Salinas (piano), Alberto Salinas (piano and violin), Abril and Noelia Rocio Sola (flute), Angel Rodriguez (percussion) and Conchi Ruiz (oboe).

Noelia Arroyo thanked "the hard work that the Foundation Calasparra Galindo made in the promotion and dissemination of music in the region of Murcia since its inception, through numerous activities to help build a supportive culture that focuses on momentum young musicians, that is accessible to all citizens and on which to build a powerful industry. "

The foundation

The Galindo Calasparra Foundation was created in 2011 by Germán Galindo and its objectives include the promotion of culture in the field of music, promote cultural exchange, encouraging people musical knowledge, organize activities to disseminate music and the granting of aid for training and music lessons.

Throughout the whole year, since the founding numerous activities such as concerts (in Calasparra, Murcia and other towns, always collaborate with other institutions and foundations), drawing competitions, visits to schools and, especially, the call is made an annual scholarship through which a young Murcia can improve and complete their academic training in European schools, with teachers of great prestige.

In previous years, have obtained this young scholarship as Rafael Carrasco Tome, Antonio Garcia Egea and Ana Mba Flores, who, after passing schools in Berlin and Rotterdam and professionally involved in music ensembles such as the Orchestra of the Palau de Valencia, where Mba play Ana and Antonio Garcia.
