The mayor, in office, responds (08/06/2011)

As reported in the newspaper La Opinion, dated May 28, a resident of our people, Santos Fernandez, filed a complaint against a Councillor of the Socialist Party in the Civil Guard barracks in Calasparra, Sunday May 22, day of held municipal elections.

Councillor took the liberty of taking, without permission of the family, a 91-year-old Residence Virgen de la Esperanza in Calasparra, and suffering from senile dementia, in order to bring to the polls to exercise it their right to vote.

The complainant, a nephew of the resident, expressed his outrage at those responsible for the residence for allowing the release of his elderly uncle without his consent, a fact which at first refused, stating that the resident was ill and that it was fake had led to vote.

At his insistence, they recognized him and Mr. Fernandez filed a complaint with the center.

His unease grew even more when he found the interest of the Councillor socialist party that the only thing I wanted was to get the vote for the Socialist Party candidate for that part.

From the Popular Party of Calasparra we learned that was not the only case of elderly people together with the Socialist Party candidate came in their wheelchairs to vote, old people who in most cases apparently had decreased their physical and mental.

Not only do we feel cheated and irritated by these illegal and irregular practices, as illustrated by Mr. Santos, but we feel a tremendous lack of respect and consideration for the good people of Calasparra and political parties to play nice with democracy, accept the results of the polls accurate response and feelings of the people responsible.

Now, if there is something that still embarrasses us more than these measures, the Councillor responsible as the residential center, are the responses of our mayor in office, Mr. Navarro.

Is the old man asked the Councillor to accompany him, also calls into question the existence of the facts.

As if this were not enough, the acting mayor of Calasparra, found that almost a week of the election, these things do not make much sense and is sent saying the family had not been worried about visiting the elderly for many years.

Well, Mr. Navarro, the Popular Party we feel ashamed because the first authority to Calasparra speculate calasparreños intelligence certainly are not idiots, we do not imagine for the elderly, without power, asking for favors to take them to vote.

We will await the dictates of the Board of Elections and the courts, however, seems unrealistic doubt been sufficiently made.

From the Popular Party we understand that for you, what happened is unimportant, especially when his party won the municipal elections, yes, by the minimum and you suggest, again, possibly as mayor of Calasparra, in addition to been elected regional, so that was the first in the list, if not, it is once again in the attempt.

We may end by asking, "Who are you to judge and evaluate the actions of anyone?

If we care for better or worse for our family, that you or nobody cares, and who will judge us.

And if in any case we have to intervene to prevent suffering and neglect of any of our citizens, only we will have fulfilled our responsibility and our duty.
