Galindo Foundation, created with the aim of maintaining links with the surname Galindo's artistic life and especially music of this town, just saw the light and will be based in Calasparra.
Galindo's family has been involved in a very special Music Band Calasparra, since the incorporation of Torrente Galindo Germain as Director of the same in 1907, succeeding his father Lorenzo Caro, founder and first director of the band in 1880, although there are reports of an intermittent presence of the same since 1869.
His sons, Francis and Germain Lorenzo Galindo Caro were musicians in the band, and band directors in turn, succeeding his father Francisco in the direction of Calasparra until almost his death in 1987.
He subsequently joined the band grandson Galindo Rodolfo Espinosa, noted clarinetist and pianist died prematurely, and, occasionally, during holidays, their grandchildren also Germain and José Galindo Moya, the family musical tradition continues today with the fifth generation, represented by Alexander and Ana Galindo Gonzalez.
The Galindo family was thus for over a century of Calasparra musical reference.
The new foundation is to support education and musical training through the award of fellowships, distributing music and the organization of events dedicated to her.
Its president is Germain Galindo Moya, present at the Board a significant representation of the family.
Trustees also part of the Illustrious Ayuntamiento de Calasparra represented by its mayor, whose enthusiastic support has been crucial to the viability of the project, the Autonomous Community of Murcia, and a group of persons of great significance in cultural and social life of our country.
It also has the artistic support of the Conservatory of Music and economic Murcia various financial institutions known for their history of patronage.
The activity of the Foundation Galindo is thus ushering in these days, it is foreseen that 2011 is the year of the first award of scholarships and the organization of the first concerts, but the march of the same with full efficiency will not occur until 2012.
