The managing director of the Institute for Housing and Land in the Region (IVS), Jane Brown, accompanied by the mayor of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro, today visited the regional government works carried out in the municipality for the construction of 16 new homes public advocacy (PPV) in the old town, next to Casa Pérez Piñero.
"With the implementation of this project will provide housing for 16 families with economic difficulties and also recover part of a listed building to house a new museum facility, which highlights the social character of actuation, which will directly benefit these families and all calasparreños "Jane Brown pointed out.
The new buildings are located in the historic old town, near the Church of San Pedro and the Museum of the Commandery, a designated environment of Cultural Interest (BIC).
In particular, the works are carried out on a plot of 1,357 square meters between the Mayor and pottery streets and the square of the Constitution, which, in part, held the workshop of the architect Emilio Pérez Piñero and three adjoining properties donated by the City Council .
The total constructed area of 3,682 square meters, of which 1,172 are for 23 parking spaces.
New homes are divided into seven properties in two and three bedroom apartments, from 66 to 85 square meters, and nine of 42 square meters and a bedroom.
This action constitutes a second phase of urban renewal in the area, through which the IVS built a 14-PPV promotion and creation of a public space behind the Museum of the Commandery.
"The works are progressing as planned work program. It's over structural rehabilitation of the house and start to configure the newly created public spaces, that is, the new street and square back. For new homes will combine work structure, walls and partitions, "said the managing director.
The project also includes the opening of a new pedestrian street, the street extension Laundry, fostering a connection shaft between the Church of San Pedro, the Museum of the Commandery, the Plaza of the Constitution, the new Museum and Pérez Piñero Municipal Auditorium future.
Repair Plan in Calasparra
During the day, Juana Brown visited the work undertaken by the IVS in 47 homes, streets and Health Esparteros within the rehabilitation work has been carried out in 59 PPV Calasparra, within the regional government Repair Plan.
The works have included the repair of roofs, plumbing system, downspouts and gutters, as well as the placement of shower trays to facilitate accessibility to the elderly and the installation of water saving devices.
Also, it has proceeded to the conditioning of common areas and painting the walls, woodwork and ironwork.
