The president of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS), Charo Quesada, and the mayor of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro, visited on Friday the cleanup of the river Argos and the Rambla de los Arcos, passing through the township calasparreño aimed at maintaining the hydraulic functionality of both channels in case of heavy rainfall.
In the case of Argos River, the CHS has undertaken the cleaning of the channel between the barriers of Cuesta Blanca and the Iron Bridge (1,700 meters) that were built in the year 2008/2009 by the Confederation, in the context of actions developed in the Plan E Government of Spain.
Thus, upon completion of this work, involving the placement of furniture for social use (panels, benches, bins) is performed extraordinary cleaning within the framework of collaboration with the City of Calasparra, who deals with routine maintenance their own resources.
Regarding the Rambla de los Arcos, the CHS has cleared a stretch of 275 meters between its junction with the MU-552 (Calasparra, Mula) and the aqueduct of the Arches.
This project aims to improve the hydraulic conditions of the channel to prevent uncontrolled flow regimes that could endanger the stability of the arches.
Finally in this section, the City of Calasparra has studied a performance to give value and promote this environment.
