The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed the operation 'CASTIVERDE', an investigation aimed at pursuing drug trafficking in Calasparra, which has culminated in the dismantling of a clandestine marijuana greenhouse, where a hundred plants have been seized, four kilos of buds, as well as the necessary tools for indoor cultivation.
Four people have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of drug cultivation, processing and trafficking, as well as electric-fluid fraud.
The investigation began when the Civil Guard suspected the existence of a clandestine plantation of marijuana, located in a warehouse located in an industrial estate in the municipality of Calasparra.
La Benemérita established a series of discrete surveillance devices that focused the investigation on a warehouse that, a priori, went unnoticed among the other companies in the area.
The research made it possible to verify that the site was frequently visited by two people from the nearby village of Espinardo, possibly in charge of the maintenance of the plantation from its cultivation to its collection and drying.
Illegal hookup to the power grid
In addition, the agents verified that the vessel had been illegally connected to the electricity grid, with the aim of fraudulently supplying the energy needed to supply light and ventilation with the intensive cultivation of marijuana.
Once obtained the necessary indications, the Civil Guard has informed the judicial authority of the result of the investigation, reason why has been authorized the corresponding order of entry and registry that has been settled with the seizure of 103 plants of cannabis sativa , four kilos of marihuana buds, as well as the necessary tools for its interior cultivation (halogen lamps, fans, exhaust fans, air conditioners, water pumps and irrigation hoses).
The operation 'CASTIVERDE' has culminated in the arrest of four Spanish men, aged between 41 and 47, who are alleged to have been responsible for the offenses of cultivation, processing and drug trafficking. of defrauding electrical fluid.
The arrested, the drug and the effects seized, as well as the investigations have been made available to the Court of Instruction number 3 of Caravaca de la Cruz (Murcia).
