Traditional Taurine Proclamation organized by the Bullfighting Club of Calasparra (02/09/2017)

With the presence of the regional and local authorities headed by the Councilor for the Presidency and Promotion Pedro Rivera and the Mayor of Calasparra José Vélez, representatives of associations and bullfighting clubs in the region and outside, amateurs and the general public, has taken place in the night of today the traditional Bullfighting Pregón that every year organizes the Taurino Club of Calasparra.

The protagonist of the night was D. Juan Jódar, Engineer of Roads, Channels and Ports, Dean of the College of ICCP Murcia and above all a great fan of bulls.

Member of the jury of the Calasparra Rice Fair since its founding, distinguished member of the Calasparra Taurine Club, he was secretary-founder of Peña Taurina Guadalupe (1964), founding partner of Peña Pepín Jimenez de Lorca and Partner of Honor and Medal of Gold of the Taurino Club of Murcia, among other distinctions.

The experience and knowledge that Juan Jódar treasures, makes him defend like no one bullfighting.

In one of the most brilliant pregones that are remembered, it has begun emphasizing the virtues that make unique to the Taurine Fair of the Rice and the passion with which the bulls live in Calasparra.

Subsequently he has done a retrospective from the origins to the present day, revealing the evidence that makes taurine culture a good to be proud of.

He has not overlooked the threats that have already put a generation at risk.

Jódar was presented by the bullfighting critic Juan Vicente Rubio, who emphasized his human qualities and as an amateur.

Being for him who could better have to his side to defend the bullfighting to those who attack it.

After the intervention of the president of the Bullfighting Club of Calasparra Francisco García, the Speaker of the Presidency and Promotion of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia Pedro Rivera took the floor, where counseling relies on bullfighting.

It was his first public intervention in a bullfighting event, and he has reaffirmed his commitment and that of the regional government with bullfighting.

Among his obligations, he recalled, is the promotion of bullfighting, and has taken advantage of his intervention to praise and defend it.

The Mayor of Calasparra José Vélez has closed the event.

In addition to highlighting the importance that the proclamation bullfighting has for the town, has defended with the passion that characterizes the festival of bulls and has encouraged calasparreños and visitors to live and enjoy the Fair and Festivals of Calasparra that with this act begin.
