After the operation, which is framed in the 'Plan against theft in homes' and the 'Plan Comercio Seguro', the Civil Guard has arrested three people and investigated another.

So far, a score of criminal acts have been clarified.

The actions began last September, when the Civil Guard began an investigation aimed at clarifying several crimes against property, specifically robberies and thefts committed in homes, shops and vehicles parked in the municipality of Calasparreño, some facts that had created social alarm in the population.

The Benem rita Citizen Security Prevention officers took the first steps of the operation at the scene of commission of the events, where they carried out exhaustive technical-eye inspections and other investigations in order to obtain all possible indications on the way of committing the crimes and their perpetrators.

The Civil Guards found out that there were certain coincidences in the modus operandi used, as well as in the hours in which the robberies were perpetrated, which led to the assumption that there was a prior surveillance of the buildings and businesses to study the routines of the victims, and thus avoid being surprised.

The main objective of the criminal group now dismantled was to steal any type of valuable object, such as cash, jewelry and small appliances that they could easily market.

Once the viability of the robbery had been determined, using force, with great agility, and acting with their faces covered and gloves to avoid being identified, they forced doors or windows to gain access to buildings or vehicles.

Among the first crimes clarified is the theft of tools, mallets and crowbars that were later used to materialize other criminal acts, among which is the theft of fuel from a truck.

A lost keychain as a clue It is during the technical-ocular inspection of this criminal act that the investigators found a key ring forgotten by one of the suspects under one of the tanks of the truck that was the object of the fuel theft.

This finding served as a clue to identify and link those now arrested with the perpetrator of several criminal acts.

Their systematic criminal action, stealing from several homes in the same day, led to the suspicion that they could be individuals from the local environment with considerable criminal experience.

Citizen collaboration The Civil Guard focused the main line of investigation in several residents of Calasparra with extensive histories for similar crimes that, finally, thanks to citizen collaboration and the investigation carried out by the agents, were fully identified.

La Benem rita established a search device on the suspects that has recently culminated in their location, arrest and subsequent bringing to justice.

A score of clarified crimes The 'Thief Williams' operation has culminated in the dismantling of a criminal group, based in the municipality of Calasparra, three of whose members have been detained and a fourth investigated for the alleged perpetrator of at least one twenty crimes of robbery with force, robbery with violence and intimidation, theft and damages committed in homes, vehicles and commercial establishments in Calasparra.

His involvement in the commission of more crimes is not ruled out.

The Civil Guard has seized tools used in the robberies and has recovered part of the stolen effects which, after being brought to justice, have been returned to their owners.

The detainees / investigated, the effects seized and the proceedings carried out have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Caravaca de la Cruz (Murcia).
