The president of the Segura Hydrographic Confederation, Mario Urrea has communicated to our mayor, Teresa García, the expense for the rehabilitation of the fluvial beach of the Remolino del Cañar in the Municipality of Calasparra, for an amount of 38,140.14 Euros and a term of execution of one month. With the execution of this action, it is intended to value one of the places most frequented by citizens with the longest tradition as a river beach, which as a consequence of successive floods has been disappearing throughout the years, so its recovery and adaptation is necessary, increasing safety and environmental respect, integrating the environment of the river in Calasparra. The spending has also been approved for a new Slalom field for whitewater activities in the Segura river as it passes through the municipality of Calasparra.

With the execution of this action, it is intended to adapt and extend the Slalom field for whitewater activities in the Segura river as it passes through the Municipality of Calasparra, breakwaters will be built in both m Margins and a selective clearing of the existing undergrowth will be carried out in the new 250-meter section along the course of the riverbed. Both actions will be carried out in coordination with the municipal technicians in order to provide an adequate response to users of the aforementioned sections, both athletes and users of the river.
