Some actions that have a budget of 200,000 euros, co-financed 80 percent by Feder funds and the remaining 20 percent by the Autonomous Community.

The execution period is four months. The counselor Antonio Luengo visited the area today and explained that "the objective of the project is to restore this river promenade of about 175 meters in length, which has been affected by the successive floods and floods of the Segura and to give the visitors of the sanctuary a space stay safer and integrated with the nature reserve ". The works cover aspects such as the demolition and removal of the rubble of the old wall; the construction of a breakwater with large stone blocks, which will gradually adapt to the terrain, and the creation of several accesses to the river.

They also include the filling and compaction of the back wall of the breakwater with selected material, the paving of the terrace with large-format slabs, as well as the installation of security fencing, benches, litter bins and signage. Finally, the landscaping of the area will be carried out with the planting of trees and shrubs, for which indigenous species such as ash trees, myrtles and water lilies, among others, will be used, and "thus fully recover this iconic natural environment in the Region of Murcia" Luengo detailed. "These are actions that are highly demanded in Calasparra, by residents and visitors, and that have always had the support and commitment of the regional government, so we take on the project and promote actions so that the recreational area on the lower terrace of the Sanctuary of Hope once again offers its best face, "explained the counselor. The Sanctuary of the Virgen de la Esperanza is located in the municipality of Calasparra, within the Sotos Natural Reserve and Ribera de Cañaverosa Forest and the Sierras and Vega Alta del Segura Special Conservation Zone (ZEC), Alhárabe and Moratalla rivers . New collector During the visit, the head of Water and Agriculture also reported on the work that the Community is carrying out in Calasparra to install a sanitation network on Lavador street in the urban area, which will provide sewerage to an environment of homes grouped in a distance of more than 50 meters and thus avoid the contamination of the Acequia Mayor of the municipality and the environmental damage that this entails. The work consists of executing 52 meters of sewerage and replacing 37 meters of ditch with pipes, as well as making seven connections, for which the Ministry will invest a total of 48,011 euros.
