This morning, Teresa García Sánchez, Mayor of Calasparra and Juan Antonio García Juárez, President of the Brotherhood of the Holy Martyrs San Abdón and San Senén, have communicated the decision of the Government Team together with said Brotherhood to cancel all acts of the supervisory celebrations in honor to San Abdón and San Senén where the allowed capacity cannot be controlled, given the circumstances that we have been suffering by COVID-19.
"It is a sad decision and it hurts us all, but we must be responsible.
We will adapt the programming to the current situation, maintaining those activities in which the capacity of the venue can be controlled and all preventive measures maintained."On the other hand, Juan Antonio García, declared "we understand that the festivities cannot be celebrated as in previous years and I thank the city council and the entire Brotherhood for the effort they are making".In said press conference, the mayor of the municipality announced that during the next few days, the Department of Celebrations will communicate all the programming that has been prepared for the festivities of Saints 2020 and for the entire summer.
