The action was developed within the framework of the police devices established jointly by the Civil Guard and the Calasparra Local Police, within the framework of Royal Decree 463/2020, of March 14, declaring the state of alarm for the management of the health crisis situation caused by COVID-19. The agents established a joint control at the entrance to the town in order to verify compliance with the confinement and sanitary measures in the municipality. During the development of the operating device, the troops stopped a tourist and perceived a strong smell of marijuana that came from inside the vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle, who showed a remarkable state of nervousness, raised the suspicion of the agents, who required them to prove the justification for the displacement.

At the same time, an exhaustive inspection of the vehicle was being carried out, which allowed to find, hidden among numerous tools in the trunk of the vehicle, two bags of buds of marijuana pressed and ready to be distributed, which yielded a total weight of 617 grams. After the discovery, the agents detained the two occupants of the vehicle as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health, for drug trafficking.

In addition to the drug, the detainees were also seized from the vehicle used to transport the drug and the cash they were carrying at the time. The Spanish detainees, 21 and 36 years old, residents of Calasparra and with a history, the drug seized and the proceedings investigated have been placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court of Caravaca de la Cruz (Murcia).
