The Government Team of the City Council of Calasparra, after several attempts to communicate with the Caballero Family, in order to try to reach a beneficial agreement for our people and after not receiving any response from the Property, we communicate that this City Council takes the negotiations for granted for the acquisition of the Bullring of "La Caverina".
Given the refusal to reach a possible agreement for the purchase-sale of said bullring, and having knowledge of the lease of it to Promociones Artística y Culturales Guadalquivir SL, we are obliged to work on other alternatives for the Bullfighting season of our municipality.
We are aware of the economic and cultural impulse generated by our confinements and our Bullfighting Fair.
From the Government Team we are optimistic and guarantee the normal development of our Fair and Festivities as it is a topic of special local interest.
We are obliged to carry out the hiring for the rental of a portable plaza where bullfighting celebrations are held, at the same time we will work on a new multi-purpose project to celebrate bullfighting and other celebrations.
Of course, this project will go hand in hand with a popular consultation for approval.
From the City Council we show our total and absolute gratitude to the Work Table, associations and groups of the municipality that have supported us during this negotiation process.
Our intention has always been to reach a good understanding but this has not been possible.
We want to record the effort that has been carried out by our former mayor Pepe Vélez and the current Government Team for the purchase or rental with option to purchase the Plaza de Toros de la Caverina to put aside the confrontation and the uncertainty generated by this issue.
Finally, we will provide information to the citizens of all the actions that are carried out and we will continue working so that our Calasparra Rice Bullfighting Fair and our bullfighting celebrations, continue to grow and prosper as our people deserve.
