Last Friday, the neighbors of Calasparra attended a special concert, framed within a week aimed at making visible the struggle of women for their participation, on an equal footing with men, in society and in their full development as a person , and that reached its peak on Sunday March 8 International Women's Day.
This concert is an approach to the study of gender identity in the Murcian popular songbook.
A reflection on the way in which the musical tradition has had to generate and modify the way in which women, especially from the vision of nineteenth-century scholars.
During this concert presentation, of an approximate hour duration, the role of women in each of the different aspects (the vain and superficial; the one that has defects, the liar, false and treacherous; the one that has no honor) is highlighted ; the virtuous one; the good mother or the bad mother-in-law, ...) each one of the examples is musicalized with the scores and songs that connect us with older times.
In this way we listen to nanas, romances, malagueñas, jacks, songs of run, etc.
The joy and know-how of the researcher and the musicians, added many moments of humor to an evening, from which the attendees were delighted.
Clara Alarcón has been in charge of the investigation and on the stage she will perform the part of the presentation.
The music is in charge of the voice of Carmen María Martínez Salazar and the guitar of Juan José Robles, Alhameño multi-instrumentalist from which the prestigious magazine 'World Music Central' has chosen his latest album as the best of 2019 in Europe of its kind.
