Last Friday the residents of the town had the opportunity to attend the presentation of the book "The Hospice of Our Lady of the Angels" by author Marcial García, professor, historian and academic of the Real de Alfonso X el Sabio, and published by the City Council of Calasparra.
In the act he was accompanied by Teresa García, councilor of culture of the City Council of Calasparra, and Juan González director of the Royal Academy Alfonso X El Sabio.
During his speech Marcial García made an interesting journey through the history of our rice village, around the presence of the Franciscans.
According to the author, the work had an unsuccessful publication attempt in 2008, but has finally seen the light thanks to the Town Hall of the town.
He also thanked the efforts of the different mayors and personalities, especially that of the current mayor Pepe Vélez, who have made this research work possible.
This work is the author's second monograph on the Franciscan family, and it seeks to present in a diachronic way the presence of the children of Poverello de Asís in the Calasparrean lands, with their lights and their shadows, analyzing, from the perspective of each era historical and always supported by the document.
