21,000 euros have been raised in the municipality of Calasparra for cancer research.
The figure was made public this morning at the event organized by the collective «Calasparra moves», where the entity presented the check for the Cancer Research Team of the Virgen de la Arreixaca Hospital.
This collection has been possible, as they have explained from the collective, thanks to the work and solidarity, also to the empathy and constant support shown by the Calasparreños and Calasparreñas collaborating with the initiatives in which this collective participates.
The event, held at the House of Culture, was attended by doctors José Luis Alonso, head of the medical oncology service of the Virgen de la Arreixaca hospital, and Paula Ruiz Carreño, coordinator of the research team, in addition to the councilors of the City Council of Calasparra , Juan José López and Cristina Ruiz.
In his speech, Dr. Alonso mentioned how impressed he has been for the solidarity demonstrated by the people of Calasparra.
He has also talked about the responsibility involved in guaranteeing the correct management of these funds.
A morning marked by emotion and memory to those who leave us prematurely because of this disease, but that has also helped us to remember that we must continue fighting.
