Today, November 20, 2019, we celebrate the Universal Day of Children's Rights, and as stated in "The Local Plan for Children and Adolescents of Calasparra", approved unanimously, in the plenary held on April 25 of 2018. Considering that one of the objectives of this plan is for children and adolescents to be an active part of the community with the power of proposal and decision, it is foreseen within said plan that the proposals for improvement of the municipality are raised through a full Infant.
For this reason our youngest Calasparreños and Calasparreñas have the floor today, in the II Children's Plenary held in our town.
During this plenary session they have transmitted requests to achieve a cleaner town, with an ecological perspective that is very present in all the requests they have made.
They have also asked for means to carry out sports activities, improvements in public parks, such as the change in public lighting by LED lights.
This specific request has already been made in the Parque de la Daya, with the replacement of the previous lighting with LED lights, which will allow greater energy and economic savings.
All these requests have revealed the interest of more young people for local issues that concern them and the rest of our society.
The Children's Plenary held this morning with the Local Council for Children and Adolescents, of which delegates from all the educational centers of the municipality are part, have been invited all sixth grade students of the educational centers, and the act has been chaired by the mayor of Calasparra, José Vélez.
This act is framed among the initiatives carried out by the City Council within the commitments acquired with the denomination “Child Friendly City†that was granted to the municipality by UNICEF last year.
