HAPPY DAY OF WOMEN: The women receive due recognition (08/03/2010)

Calasparra already has a permanent tribute to women, and also a great beauty.

Last Saturday was inaugurated the fountain sculpture depicting the Upland women in his dual role, mother and worker.

In the moving ceremony all those present agreed on the great beauty of the work and the reasons therefor.

Mayor, Jesus Navarro, along with the artists Manolo Paez and Amando López Gullón, as architects, William D'Aubarede Pall of Photovoltaic and Renewable Cañaverosa, sponsor, and the councilors of equality and culture of City Hall, Egea and Joaquina Alfonsa Sola , respectively, were in charge of finding the pieces, they raised a cry of admiration from the audience.

The sculptures, made of bronze, shows a woman calasparreña of the forties, that he was going to get water to the famous Fountain of Upland and that he lacked the pitcher, or the son who accompanied her, how could it be otherwise.

The mayor said he was a great day for the citizens, as Calasparra was a deserved tribute to women and praised the work of Paez.

The mayor took the opportunity to encourage local artists to contribute ideas and make its mark in Calasparra.

Jesus also acknowledged the work of Amando Foundry, and sponsorship of William D'Aubarede Pall Photovoltaic and Renewable Cañaverosa, which has made this beautiful project for Calasparra he said.

After the opening of the sculptures, and in the Assembly Hall of the Town Hall, Vicenta Garcia Donate City Council received the homage of the year on behalf of all women in Calasparra.

The well-deserved recognition completely filled the room, which was loaded with emotion to thank Vicenta a lifetime of dedication.

Dedication to your family, your work, others as in his words said Jesus Navarro, who summed up with "a great companion all the men we want on our side."

Words such as those intimate also dedicated his friend Christopher Angelines or José Ángel Moya, Thalia Theater Workshop, among others.

Vicenta, grateful for the recognition, said there were many women who also deserved and shared with the attendees an intimate writing about his life, with numerous references to her husband, Joachim.

Vicenta, surrounded by his loved ones lived, without a doubt one of the happiest days of his life.

You deserve it.

And the cycle Calasparra and Women, organized by the Department of Equality of the City, has been this year, more than ever, a clear tribute to the woman, as the Sunday Women's Association Our Lady of Hope received a recognition for his career.

A partnership was born 20 years ago in a timid, even with some criticism for it, as a meeting place for women who were widowed, and now brings together a significant group of women who have made working life banner.

Congratulations.

The climax to the cycle put the regular program that each year emits Calasparra Radio City, and now they're twelve, at the International Women's Day.

A program that would ultimately, and because of bad weather, had to be done in the studies that have local radio station, and not on the slide, as it was announced.

In any case, the program came a year of dialogue and citizen participation on issues like women's rights, and had the Book Club, Alfonsa Egea, Councillor Igualada, and Ana Garcia, Equality Officer, as invited.

The cycle started last day 3 with the presentation of activist Cristina del Valle.
