On the occasion of the Jubilee Year of Hope, given to the Marian shrine of Calasparra, the North and Urban arciprestazgos of the Vicariate of Cartagena on Monday pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Hope.
Taking advantage of the public holiday for celebrating the Day of the Region of Murcia, four buses left at 9:00 am from Cartagena to arrive at first to the shrine of the Child Mula, at 10:30 am, where they prayed the Holy Rosary and the pilgrims are given the opportunity to confess, one of the requirements to gain plenary indulgences.
The 250 pilgrims arrived at noon to the Marian shrine of Calasparra where they participated in the celebration of the Eucharist which was presided over by the Vicar of Cartagena, José Abellan, accompanied by priests from different parishes participating in the pilgrimage.
A celebration of the Mass also joined the faithful in the parishes of Los Roldán Martínez del Puerto and who had also come to Calasparra moved by the concern to win the Jubilee.
"It was a nice way to celebrate the Day of the Region," said the Vicar of Cartagena.
After the celebration, the Pilgrims enjoyed a fellowship meal and 17:00 Salve prayed to Our Lady of Hope before heading back to Cartagena.
D. José Abellan also ensures that Cartagena had left from another parallel pilgrimage organized by the Arciprestazgo East, in which 150 people pilgrimage to Pliego, until September celebrating its Jubilee Year Santiaguista.
