The Geolodía 13 lets look at the landscape with new eyes (12/05/2013)

Nearly 90 people participated in the Geolodía 13 Calasparra held this Saturday.

A day that allowed experts and lay closer to the world of geology and see with new eyes the elements that form our landscape as valleys, mountains and rivers.

From the town of Calasparra to the Shrine of Our Lady of Hope.

During the tour, required stops, for example, travel in time to the Cretaceous origin of most of the materials forming the landscape today, or study the determination of the failure of Socovos mountain home today know, a structure that covers more than 80 miles from near Cieza up riópar, or wonder at Paleosegura action in training, for example, the impressive Cenajo where the Shrine of Our Lady of Hope.

The event concluded with a visit to the Cueva del Puerto, impressive geological formations present in it.

The day was organized by professors and researchers from the Department of Geology at the University of Jaén, two of which are of Calasparra, who have advanced to prepare a workshop for school about fossils and minerals.

Geologists have also participated in the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, University of Granada and the Andalusian Institute of Earth Sciences.

The Geolodía 13 is sponsored by the City of Calasparra, QALAT Nature and Adventure Foundation, Shrine of Our Lady of Hope and FECYT.
