The proclamation of a cofrade: Joaquina Sola Heredia raises the curtain of the Holy Week of Calasparra (20/03/2018)

Less than a week so that the doors of the church of San Pedro open to a new Holy Week.

A celebration that last Saturday was announced and announced in the Municipal Auditorium by Joaquina Sola Heredia, under the watchful eye of the civil authorities, with the presence of the mayor of Calasparra, José Vélez Fernández, and ecclesiastics of the municipality, members of the Cabildo, brothers , friends and family of the crier.

The one who was president of the Cabildo Superior de Cofradías between 2001 to 2005, appealed to the calasparreños to celebrate with pride and dedication the Passion Week.

Joaquina assured that the first time she remembers living the Holy Week in Calasparra was seven years old.

He remembered the sensations of the moment and how those first processions were, until the last in the Third of Gala of the Illustrious and Venerable Archconfraternity of the Blood of Christ and the True Cross.

She also recounted her time as president of the Cabildo and her permanent collaboration with the Holy Week in Calasparreña.

Joaquina ended up putting in value the meaning of the upcoming celebrations, with an emotional description of the processions, highlighting the singularities of the Holy Week of Calasparra.

All this accompanied by different processional marches performed by a section of the Calasparra Music Band.

The act was conducted by María José Gomáriz Pérez, who also did the honors of the presentation of the pregonera.

In addition to the proclamation, the Cabildo Superior de Cofradías de Semana Santa delivered the "Cofrade del Año" recognition.

Jesús Martínez García picked up the tribute from the hands of Miguel Ángel Zapata, of the brotherhood of the Samaritan woman, to which he belongs for 30 years.

The Cabildo also presented the prizes of the drawing and drawing competitions for schoolchildren that it convenes annually and where students from all the schools in the town were awarded.

The evening culminated with a musical performance that corresponded to the cantaor Curro Piñana, who was accompanied on guitar by Pepe Piñana.
