| Next Saturday, June 27, lovers of sport, nature and good food, have an unmissable date in Calasparra | In this new normality, the City Council of Calasparra carries out the different routes that will take everyone who walks them to discover the most beautiful corners of the town.
The next route will take place on Saturday, June 27.The departure will take place from the Municipal Tourist Office at 08:30.
The start will be at the Casa Granero and will continue along Vázquez Street until you reach the Church of Los Santos, where you will continue towards the esparragal, while attendees enjoy the boxes of rice fields that can be seen all the way.
Afterwards, the tour will go through the old bridge of the Segura River, to make an obligatory stop on Tío Juan Vacas Island and enjoy observing the flora and fauna that inhabit the Vega rice field.
From there you will return to the urban area along the Matadero road.The distance of the route is 5 km, during it the hikers will be able to enjoy the landscape and know through explanatory panels, located along the entire route of the paddy fields, all the information on rice cultivation, in addition to the associated flora and fauna.Once the route is finished, a visit to the Archaeological Museum will be made, where you can enjoy a journey through the History of Calasparra through its material culture, from Prehistory to medieval times (XIII century AD), especially highlighting the findings of the Islamic site of Villa Vieja.
Its geological and paleontological collection stands out, with remarkable fossil and mineral elements, which will also be enjoyed on this visit.
The cost of admission is € 1.00.Since there are humid areas on the route along which the tour is to be made, there will also be the presence of mosquitoes, so it is recommended to bring mosquito repellent.
