Calasparra is preparing to live its most traditional festivities, those dedicated to San Abdón and San Senén, patrons of the Villa.
The so-called "Feasts of the Saints" are celebrated from July 13 to 30.
They will be inaugurated with the traditional Proclamation that this year will be delivered by Teresa García Sánchez at the hermitage of los Santos next Saturday at 9:00 p.m.
Activities for all tastes and ages make up this festive program.
The XXX Festival of Music Bands, the 23rd edition of the Cuervarrozk Festival will be held on July 27 at the Open Theater of the Castle "Jota Cassinello" and will feature this year the performances of "The Traveling Band", "Al Dual" and " The Rebels ", on their 40th anniversary tour.
The children's show "Little Red Riding Hood", the Gran Prix Nocturno, the live DJ sessions in the area of ​​Peñas, the night of the migas enlivened by DJ Lázaro and the most popular verbena in the Region of Murcia with the performances of the Conecta2 Group and Los Chunguitos as a star performance make this new festive program a current program, for all ages and tastes, full of ludic and liturgical activities.
This year joins the expansion of bullfighting programming in a celebration, which will serve to recover the remembered 'Espiga de Plata', so requested by the bullfighting entities and the Working Table.
For this purpose, a novillada without picadors will be scheduled, which will feature the debut of the Calasparrian breeding of 'Toros del Alamar' and whose winner will be awarded this prestigious trophy.
This celebration has the collaboration of the group 'Calasparra moves' and will be held for the benefit of the fight against cancer.
On July 28 will be held the run of the Day of the Saints that will feature the debut of the livestock of José Miguel Arroyo 'Joselito', El Tajo and La Reina for right-handers Emilio de Justo, Curro Díaz and Filiberto.
The House of Culture of Calasparra hosted this morning, the presentation of the various activities that will be developed in the town during the coming weeks and until July 30, Day of Saints.
The mayor of Calasparra, José Vélez, along with councilors Antonio Merino and Jordi Arce, as well as the president of the Brotherhood of Saints, Juan Antonio García, have detailed the entire program and encouraged all the people to participate in each and every one of the organized activities.
