CCOO regrets the situation in which a worker finds himself and vindicates the need to raise the awareness of employers, workers and society in general of the incidences of heat stroke (28/06/2019)

The worker was in Calasparra doing agricultural work when he had a hyperthermia, he was transferred to the health center in the first instance but given the seriousness of his condition he was transferred to the Morales Meseguer Hospital.

We were announcing it and it has arrived, the high temperatures leave a worker admitted to the ICU in serious condition.

Exposure to extreme environmental temperatures represents a well-known danger to human health, whose severity ranges from discomfort and fatigue to the dreaded heat stroke.

From CCOO we regret this serious situation in the health of the worker due to heat stroke and we want to vindicate the need to raise awareness among employers, workers and society in general of the incidences of heat stroke in this period in which the Thermometer reaches very high temperatures.

We must prevent thermal stress in the first place by making the worker aware of the threat it poses to their health and the measures that can be taken to avoid or minimize them.

Therefore, we ask the businessmen to take precautions and strict compliance with current regulations on the prevention of occupational risks, specifically those related to weather conditions.

We demand from the Administration a greater commitment to ensure the health of workers, reinforcing inspections in this summer and in the professions with the highest risk of suffering thermal stress.

STOP to heat strokes, they can be avoided and we must all fight to get it.
