International Day of Consumer Rights (14/03/2019)

This Friday, March 15, the International Day of Consumer Rights is celebrated.

With this motive, from the Municipal Office of Information to the Consumer of the City council of Calasparra, its person in charge, Esperanza Marín, has given to know the statistics 2018:

In the year 2018 the number of inquiries and claims in matters such as gas has increased, due to the increase in facilities, and this has generated a large number of inquiries and complaints regarding the contract for discharges and connections, billing, estimated readings of counter, among others.

Next, the consultations and claims of electricity (social bonus, billing, penalty for breach of contracts, high and low electrical services, etc.).

Telephony, Insurance, banks, purchase of second-hand vehicles (breaches of guarantees), purchase of appliances and furniture (claims for breach of guarantees).

Health claims for the closure of Idental, which have left the patients with the treatments without finalizing, without fulfilling the contract and paying the financial ones the dental budget.

The 2018 statistics are completed with a wide range of inquiries and complaints regarding transport, housing, rent, Internet shopping, textiles, travel agencies, water, and academies.

The resolution of all these claims, through mediation by the Consumer Office with the companies claimed and the holding of Consumer Arbitration Boards at the Headquarters of Calasparra, has generated a refund of € 77,844.40 to the pocket of the consumers and consumers of Calasparra, as well as the fulfillment and cancellation of a multitude of contracts, repair of vehicles and appliances under warranty, losses without penalty of contracts, among others.
