Until January 6 Calasparra lives the Christmas period with street theater, shows, traditional cuisine, music, storytelling, children's workshops and any day of these celebrations is good to walk through its streets with family and loved ones.

In programming there is no lack of music.

The carols characteristic of these festivities are interpreted by various local cultural entities.

Like the Calasparra Choral Association, Flamenco Amanecer, the José Moreno Municipal Music School "El Morenico" or the Calasparra Music Band Association itself, which on the afternoon of December 24, Christmas Eve, travels the streets in a cheerful parade to which they end up joining the neighbors of the municipality.

The town also shows its solidarity during these days.

The launching of solidarity lanterns, on the afternoon of December 24, brings together the Calasparrian and Calasparreñas with visitors in the center of the municipality.

An event that is followed by hundreds of people, managing to fill the local sky with incandescent desires for a better and fairer world.

The proceeds go to Cáritas and Cruz Roja.

Another outstanding solidarity moment is the popular San Silvestre race.

Hundreds of runners of all ages participate every year in the charity event that this edition will also allocate the proceeds to the campaign "Drops for Niger" of Unicef.

The atmosphere is formidable and sports and solidarity together, and a few hours after the end of the year, make this one of the most endearing and peculiar moments of the celebrations.

There is no shortage of costumes, music and animations in an afternoon that is lived with special emotion and fun.

But if there is an event that distinguishes Calasparra is the presence in its streets of Juan Pelotero and the Innocents:

Calasparra will dedicate an intense day to the staging of one of the most famous characters on the occasion of the Day of the Holy Innocents, on December 28.

A day that in the locality comes marked by the tradition of Juan Pelotero and the Innocents, who have crossed the streets of the municipality for centuries, spending jokes and "collecting" for the most absurd things, in a very peculiar way.

Storytelling sessions for all ages, marathons, IV Andante Storytelling Festival, parades, tapas and stories, workshops and a long etcetera will turn the municipality into a fairytale town, where you can get carried away by imagination and dreams.

For the little ones the fun is guaranteed and they will not have time to get bored.
