The Community of Irrigators of the Regulated Waters by the Embalse del Argos of Calasparra has achieved a reduction of losses in the transport of water superior to 20 percent thanks to the works of substitution of stretches of conduction of irrigation that have been realized, in zones with an age superior to 40 years.
The Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Miguel Angel del Amor, today visited the completed works that "the Community has subsidized 20,542 euros 40 percent of the total investment, amounting to 51,355 euros, as contemplated participatory budgets 2018, "said Del Amor.
Nine percent of the resources available to the community, consisting of 1,400 users and covering an area of ​​1,095 hectares, run through the renewed pipelines.
The renovation has included the installation of 338 linear meters of reinforced concrete channel in the main ditch, thus avoiding leaks and water losses in this stretch of ditch, while improving the maintenance conditions of it.
Likewise, a new delivery box of 3.4 meters long by 1.6 meters wide has been built, in which two gates have been installed that allow the flow of water from the irrigation ditch to the drive house next to it.
Another of the actions that has been undertaken is the pipelining of 136 meters of the ditch of Juan Bobón, by means of a pipeline of 500 millimeters in diameter, with its corresponding inlet and outlet boxes.
