Calasparra Ciudad Amiga de la Infancia (05/11/2018)

A few days ago, UNICEF published the Minutes with the Resolution of the Permanent Secretariat, in which we find the 2018 Calls for Child Friendly Cities, where we highlight the incorporation of our Municipality.

In the day developed in San Javier was Teresa Garcia, Education Edil and who has worked during the last months for the achievement of this distinction.

The network of Child Friendly Cities, has since last October 25 with 114 new members, municipalities, town councils, island councils or mancomunidades that are added to those who have renewed in this call.

In this way, from now on there are 274 Local Governments that have placed childhood at the center of their public policies.

Thanks to this, 41% of the children and adolescents living in Spain do so in a Child Friendly City.

Each of them has designed a local plan that aims to improve the well-being of children and adolescents, promotes participation spaces through local councils of children and works in partnership with other public administrations or entities to achieve their objectives.

This set of actions and their corresponding budget commitment are intended to contribute to the five framework objectives of the initiative:

Each child is valued, respected and treated fairly within their communities.

The voices, needs and priorities of each child are heard and considered in the regulations and public policies, in the budgets and in all the decisions that affect them.

All children have access to essential quality services.

All children live in safe and clean environments.

All children have the opportunity to enjoy family life, play and leisure.
